Reverend Dr. Sheldon T. Smith is a native of Connecticut. His formative years were spent growing up in Orange, CT. He attended Amity Regional High School. Following high school he matriculated to the Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio, majoring in English Literature and Religion, graduating in 1967. Upon attaining his undergraduate degree, he entered Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Centre, Mass. receiving his Master of Divinity degree in 1970. In the same year he was ordained at the Orange Congregational Church. In 1987 he returned to Andover Newton to earn a Doctor of Ministry Degree. He has served churches in New Hampshire, Maine and Connecticut. Rev. Smith is married. He and his wife Nancy have two grown sons, Anson and Aaron. In addition to his life as a pastor, Rev. Smith enjoys kayaking, fishing and gardening.
